The September MashDMU meeting took place on Monday 17th September when a select number of colleagues gathered. Lynne provided an overview of the CILIP Cataloguing and Indexing Group conference (CIG12) (reported in more detail on her blog).
After the alphabet soup of RDA, FRBR, and cake (you had to be there!), Alison changed the focus. She highlighted a recent post on Brian Kelly’s blog – “Guest Post: Further Evidence of Use of Social Networks in the UK Higher Education Sector” by Craig Russell from the University of Leicester. In this post Craig provides a summary of the use of social networking service such as Facebook and Twitter across the UK higher education sector. This led to a discussion about the use of Twitter at DMU, and the @LibraryDMU Twitter account and Library Facebook account in particular.
Normal service for MashDMU meetings will return in December when first semester library teaching finishes!
